Turkey : Nöbetçi Anatolian High School – Sözcü Newspaper

A special exam came to Çanakkale from Tunceli to non-exam Anatolian high schools in 21 provinces and 2020 LGS. These provinces are as follows; Amasya, Ardahan, Artvin, Bayburt, Bolu, Burdur, Çanakkale, Çankırı, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Iğdır, Isparta, Karaman, Kırıkkale, Kırşehir, Kilis, Ordu, Rize, Sinop, Tunceli, Yalova.

1.7 Million Students will sweat at LGS on June 7

In Turkey, 1.2 million children of primary school age begins each year according to the population. In the 8th grade, 1.2 million graduates were entering LGS. The 4 + 4 + 4 System introduced in 2012 broke the flow. Those who are enrolled in a 60-month school also graduate from the 8th grade this year. In other words, 1.7 million graduates will be given with 471 thousand increase instead of 1.2 million.

ONE QUALITY ONE QUALITY

MEB Deputy Minister Mahmut Özer worked in 81 provinces. At least one Anatolian high school was included in the exam in 21 provinces. According to the Regulation on Secondary Education Institutions, there is an obligation to be a science and social sciences high school in each province. The rate of students who are taken through the central examination cannot exceed 10 percent. Science and social sciences were already filling 10 percent of 21 provinces.

Now, there is a risk that Anatolian high schools, which are ‘qualified’ in 2020 and who will take students with an exam, are included in the ‘unqualified’ scope in 2021 and that the 10 percent quota is exceeded.

Striking findings from Education Specialist Salim Ünsal: 6 QUESTIONS 6 ANSWER

1) Why were Anatolian high schools not taking students by exam in 21 provinces?

“According to the regulation, maximum 10 percent of the number of students in a city can be taken by central system examination. The quota allocated for science and social sciences high schools in 21 provinces was already filling 10 percent. Therefore, according to the address of Anatolian high schools
the student was enrolled. ”

2) Why was the exam brought to Anatolian high schools that entered without examination?

“The number of LGS candidates increased 471 thousand with 60 months and increased from 1.2 million to 1.7 million. This will increase the number of exam students by 30-40 percent in 81 provinces. Candidates who entered LGY for science and social sciences high schools in 21 provinces so far will now be able to enter Anatolian high schools with an exam because they are qualified. ”

3) If the quota increases, the problem is solved?

“The quota of schools that entered the exam in 2019 LGS was 139 thousand. If this quota is increased to at least 190 thousand, the situation is synchronized with 2019. The number of students to be placed by the exam should increase to 51 thousand. ”

4) Can these high schools not be entered without an examination?

“Including 21 provinces, the best Anatolian high schools in each city will now be entered with a central examination. There are no qualified Anatolian high schools without exams. When the system was set up 8 years ago, 60 months were only enrolled in the first year for 1 year. ”

5) What will happen when the age population returns?

“In 2012, more enrollments were made to the first year. In the following years, the population of the age decreased to 1.2 million. While this year will increase to 1.7 million, it will decrease to 1.2 million graduates in 2021. MEB can still do without an exam in 2021. “

6) How are students affected by changes?

“If it is not returned, the number of students admitted in these cities exceeds the 10 percent limit. In fact, science and social sciences were filling this limit. If it is returned, the student will enter the same school this year with an exam and without an exam. It will be inevitable to experience a serious success difference between the 9th and 10th grades. ”
