Turkey : Turkish Dentists Association Manager: Dental treatment should be postponed if not urgent

Speaking to SÖZCÜ, Nebil Seyfettin stated that oral and dental health workers are directly at risk and said, “The Ministry of Health should implement protective and preventive measures for dentists working in public and private. It is very important for our dentists and our people to realize the decision that delays the implementation of predetermined dental treatments that will prevent the risk of cross infection, as soon as possible, in terms of preventing patient accumulation in the public as well as our physicians. ”

“TO BREAK THE INFECTION CHAIN, AVOID COLLECTIVE TREATMENTS”

Pointing out that it would be more appropriate to give oral dental health services not from the clinic but from the practice and polyclinic places, Nebil Seyfettin said: “This will ensure that the infection spreading chain is broken. Dentists are the most experienced occupational group in terms of preventing the risk of infection throughout their professional life. However, in this virus case, which has a very high spreading rate, healthy people can get infected, and those with the disease can transmit the virus. Although we take all precautions as dentists, it is useful to postpone the treatments during this transition period, except for non-emergency dental treatments. ”

Seyfettin stated that the patients who will go to the dentistry for treatment should also follow the appointment time and should not take a companion with him. She found.
