One of the Corona virus outbreak in Turkey’s most visited areas struck Pamukkale, the ruins. One of the 5-star hotels in White Paradise, which hosted 2.5 million tourists last year, has been temporarily closed.
ŞEN: A HOTEL WILL CLOSE MORE
DENTROD President Gazi Murat Şen, in a statement to SÖZCÜ, stated that the hotels in Pamukkale and Karahayıt regions have a total bed capacity of 8 thousand, but that they only have 5 percent occupancy:
* There are 7 5-star hotels in Pamukkale.
* One of them is temporarily closed.
* A hotel will continue its activities until the end of the week and it will be closed as of next week.
* Closed 90 percent of another hotel facility, started to serve with only 20 rooms.
* Other facilities are also waiting for the package of measures to be announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
* They also have a closing situation.

“LOCAL TOURIST IS NOT COMING”
DENTROD President Şen said that the flow of local tourists came to an end after the thermal pools were closed due to precaution in Pamukkale and Karahayit.
* Customers come to this region not for accommodation, but for thermal and SPA.
* As the pools were closed within the scope of the measures of the Ministry of Health, local tourists did not come.
* There are almost no foreign tourists.
* The epidemic affected not only 5-star hotels but also hostels in the Karahayıt region.
Şen said that for the ruins of Pamukkale, it is the place that receives the most visitors after the Topkapı Museum in Istanbul and Hagia Sophia.
