In the evening, cracks occurred in the carrier columns, beams and walls of the 11-storey 44-apartment Tea Apartment in Camiönü District of the center. Building residents reported the situation to the Rize Municipality teams.
In the technical examination conducted by the teams, it was found that deep cracks occurred in the building carrier columns and beams. The teams decided to evacuate the building in terms of life and property safety.
Citizens were evacuated from their homes and settled next to their relatives. The street where the building is located is closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic with barriers. Police teams also took measures around the building. In the meantime, it was revealed that the building was found to be risky in the earthquake performance analysis previously made in the building.
