TURKISH POLICE ORGANIZATION’S 175TH ANNIVERSARY ANNIVERSARY
The Turkish Police Service was established in modern sense on April 10, 1845 in Istanbul. It is currently an organization that was organized on the basis of the Law No. 3201 on the Police Organization and was authorized under the Law on Police Duties and Authorities No. 2559 on 1934. It is a general directorate attached to the Ministry of Interior. Department heads were organized in the center as Provincial and District Police Departments in the provinces.
Since the day it was founded on April 10, 1845, members of the Turkish Police Service, who have worked devotedly day and night in order to keep our peace and order intact in our country, celebrate April 10 each year as the Police Day, since the Police Department was founded on April 10.
