As the number of corona virus cases tended to decline in recent days, the question of when to normalize steps in economic and social life has also begun to be asked more frequently.
The reopening of shopping malls, which have been closed for about two months, has been on the agenda for several days. Hüseyin Altaş, the President of the Shopping Centers and Investors Association (AYD), said in a statement he made to RS FM on April 24 that he said that Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak wanted the shopping malls to be reopened.
“MINISTER WANTS TO OPEN ALBAYRAK”
In his statement, Altaş said, “We met with Nureddin Nebati Bey, Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance 1 week ago. He called us and said, “Our Finance Minister Mr. Berat Albayrak wants the shopping malls to be opened on May 4,” he said. We used the expressions “We said” it is not possible to catch up to 4 very early, it may happen after 11. “
Altaş also pointed out that the investors of the mall favored opening at a later date and said, “We talk about this issue every other day. We are at a very interesting point. Most of the shopping mall investors are of the opinion that we can open it after the feast. ”

Sinan Oncel
BRANDS HAVE TWO TERMS
Speaking to Sozcu.com.tr, the President of the United Brands Association (BMD), Sinan Öncel, stated that they have two requests for the opening of the shopping malls.
Stating that some retailers are willing to open shopping malls on the grounds that the number of visitors of the shopping malls will remain significantly low in case of reopening in the current environment, Öncel said that they want to take steps on the salaries of employees and employees.
Stating that in the event of reopening, the short-time working payments should continue, Öncel said, “Let the short-run payments continue, and the employers will complete it.”
Stating that they will not be able to pay rent in case of reopening, Öncel said, “If it is reopened, only 25 percent of the normal turnover can be obtained. In this case, rents should be indexed to turnover for a while ”.
Stating that they have started to discuss the issue of short work and rent with the authorities, Öncel said, “This is not a bargaining issue, it is an obligation, it is not possible to be otherwise.”
Öncel also stated that many brands tend to e-commerce due to the closed shopping malls, but only 10-15 percent of the losses can be compensated in this way.
