Turkey : Public hospital produces its own disinfectant

Hand and skin disinfectant is now being produced in Marmara Ereğlisi State Hospital, where a mask was previously produced as part of the fight against the Corona virus.

After the hospital’s needs are met, disinfectants will be provided to other healthcare organizations that request. Beraat Özdemir, Chief Physician of Marmara Ereğlisi State Hospital, said that they are the only hospital in the region that produces their own disinfectant. Özdemir, who stated that the need for hand and skin disinfectant developed due to the corona virus epidemic, said:

“In order to meet this developing need, we chose to provide skin disinfectant. However, we have found that it can lose this disinfection feature, whether it is the transportation conditions or the storage process. In ourselves, we made studies on whether we can produce it in our hospital.

We thought we could prepare it under the conditions determined by the Ministry of Health as a magistral. We have followed a path on this road, and we have produced 1000 liters of disinfectant with the necessary permission from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. After meeting our own need from the disinfectant we produce from this 1000 liters, we will share it with other hospitals and health facilities. ”

Stating that they have disinfectants met by the Ministry of Health, Beraat Özdemir said, “We will also deliver the disinfectants we produce to those in need throughout our city. We have already produced masks in our hospital and we still continue to produce masks. ” DHA
