Turkey : Kamar: Credit card revitalizes the installment sector for 24 months

Referring to the Istanbul Jewelery Fair, which was canceled due to the pandemic, Mustafa Kamar reminded that 1250 companies were making a great preparation for the fair and said: “The companies operating in the sector have prepared thousands of new products for sale at the jewelery fair. With the cancellation of the fair, we had stocks of new season products. If the credit card is given up to 24 months of installments, we would like to evaluate these products we prepare for export in the domestic market by offering them to our citizens’ appreciation. ”

Mustafa Kamar continued his words by emphasizing that they demand a long-term installment decision for credit card in jewelry sales:

“The installment of up to 24 months on credit card will take a deep breath to our industry. We can reorder workshops producing as much as we can melt the stocks. Thus, the wheels of the economy begin to return and trade returns to normal. ”

Mustafa Kamar, who showed the convenience of long-term payment with bank credit, which is granted to sectors such as furniture and tourism, reminded that the credit card was the foremost of the financial tools that make it easier for consumers to access the products. He pointed out that the opportunity to sell up to 24 months with installments on credit cards will be a great opportunity for couples who have wedding organizations this summer season.

Stating that the jewelery industry is a strategic sector with a total of 1 million people, together with 35,000 jewelery and 6,000 manufacturers, Mustafa Kamar stated that commercial relations with regions such as China, the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East were cut simultaneously with the global epidemic. Mustafa Kamar underlined that there has been a 99.5 percent contraction in the sector as the trade with foreign countries has stopped completely and the retail stores are closed due to the risk of virus in the domestic market. Kamar added that they were at the forefront of the sectors that suffered the most during the epidemic.

The Turkish jewelry industry was targeting $ 8.5 billion in exports for 2020, after exporting $ 7.2 billion in 2019.
