With the President’s Decision published in the Official Gazette today, an additional 25 percent customs duty was imposed on imported cologne.
Cologne sales and prices had increased rapidly with the corona virus outbreak.
Other products with additional customs tax in the decision and additional customs tax rates are as follows:
– Paracetamol – 5.5 percent
– Painting, education and poster paints, color changing paints, paints for entertainment and the like (in tablets, tubes, jars, bottles, bowls or similar forms or packages): Paints in sets and others – 14 percent
– Mixtures of fragrant substances used as raw materials in industry and mixtures of which one or more of these substances (including alcoholic solutions); Other preparations of the type used for the production of beverages, mainly fragrances: Others – 25 percent
– Perfumes and toilet waters- 25 percent
– Lip lipsticks – 40 percent
– Eye make-up preparations – 40 percent
– Sun creams and oils – 40 percent
– Manicure and pedicure preparations: 40 percent
– Powders (whether or not compressed): 40 percent
– Blushes – 40 percent
– Body lotions – 40 percent
– Creams, emulsions and oils – 40 percent
– Shampoos – 25 percent
Perm and defrize preparations – 40 percent
– Hair sprays – 40 percent
– Hair dyes – 40 percent
– Toothpastes or powders – 25 percent
– Thread used to clean between teeth (thread) – 25 percent
– Shaving lotion – 40 percent
– Shaving cream – 40 percent
– Deodorant – 40 percent
– Perfumed bath salts and other bath preparations – 40 percent
– “Agarbatti” and other fragrant preparations used by burning – 40 percent
It is stated that the application of additional customs tax is valid until 30 September 2020.
