The teams of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Directorate of Science Affairs carried out an asphalt patch work between Çarkacı and Korucu road in İvrindi district.
During the process, Çarkacı Mahallesi Muhtarlığı requested İvrindi Municipality to prune the trees on the side of the road on the grounds that they made the passages difficult. The process was carried out by breaking the trees with a scoop of İvrindi Municipality.
After pruning, the state of the trees got a big reaction by the citizens. Making a statement on the subject from his social media account, İvrindi Mayor AKP’y Yusuf Cengiz said that the transaction was controlled. Cengiz used the following statements in the statement:
* Asphalt patching works are carried out on many routes throughout our district, including the Çarkacı-Korucu highway, by the Metropolitan Municipality Directorate of Science Affairs.
* As a result of the determination of our Çarkacı Neighborhood Headman during his work on the Çarkacı-Korucu highway, within the scope of this plan, there was a demand that some branches of the pine trees planted on the land belonging to the Municipality lie on the road and the parts of these trees extending to the road were cut.
* After cutting, they were examined on-site by teams affiliated to İvrindi Forest Management Directorate and they did not detect any negative situation regarding pruning of trees.
