The accident occurred in the TEM Highway Korutepe Tunnel. As a result of the slowing of the TIR in front, the TIRs from behind hit each other repeatedly. After the accident involving 5 trucks, TEM Highway Ankara direction was closed to transportation.
While 2 people were injured in the accident, health and fire brigade teams were sent to the region. Health teams intervened the injured.
The work was started to remove TIRs that caused material damage. Upon the formation of long vehicle queues on the road, the drivers were directed to the TEM Highway Izmit toll booths.
