As the 19-year-old boy of Anderlecht, named Adil in Brussels, Belgium, wandered with his motorcycle last Friday evening, he did not comply with the “stop” warning of a police team controlling the corona virus measures.
Another police car from the opposite direction crashed into the motorcycle of the teenager, who started to flee. It was announced that the teenager named Adil died as a result of the collision. An investigation was launched into the incident. Anderlecht Mayor Fabrice Cumps announced that the situation was a little calmer in the evening, but it is not over yet.
Conflict Between Police and Demonstrators
Young people gathered in Anderlecht district of Brussels, despite the ban decision, protested the police attitude. A group of demonstrators protesting the incident attacked the police vehicle.
While there was a clash between the police and the demonstrators, the police tried to intervene in the action by firing from time to time. It was also stated that the demonstrators set fire on some parked vehicles on the street. Those moments were recorded by Turkish citizens.
CALL FROM ADİL’S FAMILY TO YOUTH
After the events following Adil’s death, Adil’s family called for the young people to protest, saying, “We want young people to remain calm and mourn our mourning.” DHA
