The EIA report of the second waste storage facility with cyanide of 1 million 750 thousand cubic meters was approved for 40 hectares next to the living areas of Koza Gold Enterprises under the management of SDIF in Sivrihisar district of Eskişehir. Construction work of the facility has started. Citizens protested the approval of the facility’s EIA report.

Eskişehir Tepebaşı Mayor Ahmet Ataç participated in the press release after the EIA report, which was approved for the Cyanide Waste Dam in Kaymaz District of Sivas, under the management of the trustee under the management of the SDIF.
In the reaction statement held in Kaymaz, CHP Eskişehir Deputies Utku Çakırözer and Jale Nur Süllü, Odunpazarı Mayor Kazım Kurt, City Council President Nuray Akçasoy, Eskişehir Bar Association President Mustafa Elagöz, TMMOB Eskişehir Provincial Coordination Board Secretary Neşet Aykanat, Eskişehir Medical Chamber President Mehmet Akif Aladağ, Eskişehir Environmental Protection and Development Association President Sadık Yurtman and NGO representatives came together. Participants in the press statement reacted to the situation by drawing attention to the damages that the toxic heavy metals will cause to the nature with the construction of the plant in question.

Reacting to the cyanide pool, President Ataç said, “As we came here, we remembered the action of gold in Kaymaz in the early 1990s. As a result of those actions, the search for gold was delayed, not done. At that time, such a success was achieved. Now we will achieve such success, friends. When humanity withdrew from nature because of the corona, all the elements of wildlife showed itself again. The thing that disturbs the nature the most is the human being. ”
“WE WILL DO WHAT IT COMES FROM OUR HAND”
Stating that a cyanide pool was made to look for gold in the hands of the company, which is the hands of the SDIF, the state said:
“Today, we are here for such a subject, for a state-made subject. Friends, the government took the business from the FETOers, but unfortunately it is doing the plant with its own hands. What kind of contradiction this is, is not understandable. Of course riddled everywhere you visit Turkey in the last 20 years. They left the ground and now they are traveling underground. The cyanide pool built here is not acceptable. We will make this stop. This cyanide is a chemical substance that harms human beings, agriculture and animal husbandry. Maybe some of our friends are ignoring some interests for the sake of today, but please give up. Our children are very precious. Our grandchildren and elders are very precious. For this reason, with the power of the people of Kaymaz, they should support their friends who do not leave them alone in this struggle. The cyanide pool is unacceptable. We will do whatever we can to end it. I wish you health in such a critical period. I hope this is my greatest wish, whether it is a waste or not a waste of our lovely Kaymaz region.
