Turkey : Electric car attack from two automotive giants… – Sözcü Newspaper

The transformation in the automotive industry also shows us the partnerships of brands that develop different technologies. Although there are not dozens of these partnerships, we can show many examples. The last two brands and groups that announced that they would get support from each other in the production of electric cars in technology sharing were Honda and General Motors.

With the “Electric Vision” strategy of Honda using GM’s proprietary Ultium batteries, work began for two new Honda vehicles. The interior and exterior designs of the new electric vehicles will be realized by Honda, and Honda’s driving features will be included in the models. The automotive expertise of both companies will be combined for Honda electric vehicles produced with this cooperation.

Production of the vehicles will take place at General Motors facilities in the USA. In addition to collaboration in production, Honda will add GM’s OnStar safety service to new electric vehicles to integrate with HondaLink. In addition, Honda plans to use GM’s hands-free advanced driver support technology. Honda also participated in GM’s battery module development efforts in 2018.

With the agreement signed under Honda’s ‘Electric Vision’ strategy, the vehicles to be produced are expected to go on sale in 2024.
