The incident occurred in Dilovası City Hall Square. Allegedly, Murat A., an alcoholic, stuck a knife in the throat of Kamil Arikan, who had been arguing for an unknown reason.
Murat A. escaped from the scene. Murat A. then stabbed Vahit Barış, who he had discussed in Adnan Kahveci Park, from his chest. 112 Emergency teams came to the scene after the citizens informed, and Kamil Arıkan and Vahit Barış removed Dilovası State Hospital.

After the first intervention, Kamil Arıkan and Vahit Barış Gebze were referred to Fatih State Hospital. It was stated that despite all the interventions at the hospital, Kamil Arıkan died, while the treatment of Vahit Barış continued.
