Date: October 30, 1918. Mondros Armistice was signed in battleship Agamemnon, moored in Port of Mondros, Limnos Island. Despite the epic writing of the Turkish soldier led by the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Çanakkale, the enemy ships anchored in Istanbul through the Dardanelles and İzmir was occupied on May 15, 1919. On 13 November 1918, Atatürk looked at the enemy navy in the Bosphorus and said, “They will go as they come.”

ACCEPTED MISSION
Having held various contacts in Istanbul until May 1919, Ataturk decided to move to Anatolia to save the homeland. Ataturk’s appointment to Anatolia as the 9th Army Inspector was an important opportunity to realize his liberation plans.
Atatürk accepted this task. Bandırma Ferry was arranged to take Mustafa Kemal Pasha and his comrades to Samsun and Ismail Hakkı was appointed as the captain of the ship. All preparations were made for the trip.
JOURNEY lasted 3 days
Atatürk and his fellow soldiers set out for Samsun. Date: May 16, 1919… There was news that Bandırma Ferry will be sunk after sailing to the Black Sea.
A different route was determined than the enemy predicted. Atatürk was opened to the Bosphorus by a military engine from Beşiktaş, and took the Bandırma Ferry off the Maiden’s Tower.
The Great Leader and his entourage arrived in Samsun on May 19, 1919, after a three-day tough journey. The homeland was devastated when they took the first step to the Tobacco Pier. The task given to Atatürk was to control the resistance launched against the enemy in Anatolia.
However, he was planning to unite the resistance organizations in Anatolia and start the National Struggle. He also implemented all his plans.

FIRST GENERAL IN THE BASIN
Atatürk stayed in Samsun for 6 days and moved to Havza on May 25. The roads were broken and the vehicle broke down several times. Atatürk and his friends, who got out of the vehicle, took a journey by telling the march of “The mountain has gotten smoke, the silver stream never stops, the sun rises from the horizon, let’s walk, friends.”
Atatürk found the appropriate environment to organize the National Struggle in Havza. He founded the First Defense Law Society here. The first rally was held in Havza. The occupation of İzmir was protested. The first circular was published in Havza again. With this circular, Atatürk aimed to awaken the national consciousness by reacting to the occupations.

Atatürk then united all the nation around the fire of independence with the Erzurum and Sivas congresses. First he saved the country from the enemy, then founded the modern Republic of Turkey showed the whole world the fingers …
