According to the report in Reuters, Canadian police announced that the person shooting the civilians was neutralized. It was stated that at least 10 people, including one police officer, died in the incident.
Explaining that 51-year-old Gabriel Wortman was disabled by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the police official stated that the attack first began in Portapique.
The officials described the attack as the second massacre after the massacre in Montreal in December 1989, which resulted in the death of 15 people.
