Turkey : Last minute… School holiday statement from the Minister of National Education Selçuk

The meeting regarding the measures to be taken against the epidemic of the Corona virus (Covid-19), which was held with the participation of the Presidential Cabinet and bureaucrats, ended with the presidency of President and AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Beştepe.

The Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk, who attended the meeting, makes statements regarding the decisions regarding education due to the Corona virus.

Highlights from Ziya Selçuk’s comments:

* There are some technical details of the protective and preventive measures we take in our schools. I share these details.

* In the meeting held under the chairmanship of President Erdoğan, it was decided to have a holiday for two weeks starting from Monday, March 16, for the health of our students, teachers and parents.

* We want our students to rest and rest for the first week on March 16-30. The next week the distance education system will start.

* Education-Informatics Network will bring the classroom environment to the homes with its completely renewed form, and will allow our students to continue their education remotely.

* The curriculum will be restructured in our primary and secondary schools, and the necessary compensation support will be provided on the Internet and TRT.

* We are preparing an infrastructure for how we will give which content with which technology.

* All the stages related to distance education processes by the experts of our Ministry have been prepared for our students by working up to the finest details.

* Our Ministry has implemented the measures in 3 stages.
