Sinan Aygün, former chairman of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce and former CHP deputy, ended the work of all his staff working in TOGO towers.
After the controversial construction of TOGO towers was sealed, Sinan Aygün, who was convicted with the Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mansur Yavaş, terminated the employment contracts of 10 people, including his secretary, assistant staff and accountant working in his office in TOGO towers.
Aygün resigned from the CHP after the TOGO towers discussion. Employers will not be able to lay off workers for 3 months, according to the draft law on the bill prepared by AKP and planned to submit to the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
If the enforcement clause for the draft law was not withdrawn to the day when the draft leaked to the public, namely April 8, 2020 or earlier, the bosses were already worried about entering the race to lay off workers.
As a matter of fact, the start of layoffs from the first day of the draft law brought up the concerns in this regard.
DİSK President Arzu Çerkezoğlu pointed out that the draft prepared yesterday was far from protecting the workers, and stated that the draft law sentenced them to unpaid leave.
PRESIDENT SAYS ‘KEEP EMPLOYMENT’
Supporting the prepared draft law Turkey Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) President Rifat Hisarcıklığıoğl together with yesterday NGO “layoffs of employees, protect employment, which is the source of short-time working allowance needs” published a report. On the day of the publication of the declaration, ATO ex-President Aygün laid off his staff.
