Turkey : MoNE determines the principles for passing the class – Sözcü Gazetesi

With the 2 regulations amendments published in the current issue of the Official Gazette, the principles regarding the interruption of education in emergency situations, distance education principles, compensatory education and the evaluation of student success in the event of interruption in emergency situations were determined.

With the amendment made to the Regulation on Preschool Education and Primary Education Institutions of the Ministry of National Education, it was updated in the article titled “Extraordinary Situations”. In this context; For reasons such as disaster, flood, earthquake, unfavorable weather conditions and similar natural disasters, illness or epidemic, which may hinder education and training throughout the county, province or country, by the Ministry of National Education or by the local administrative authority, education and training will be suspended in schools.

Necessary precautions will be taken by the school administrations and the provincial directorates of national education for compensating the lessons. Distance learning lessons given to schools will not be subject to scoring. Face-to-face compensatory trainings will be planned and carried out by school administrations, district national education directorates or the Ministry, depending on the degree and type of school, including weekends when necessary. Compensatory trainings will not be evaluated with points.

THE PARENT’S REQUEST WILL BE CLASS REPEAT

In case of a break in education and training and only one semester score; Regardless of whether this score is below the passing grade, all students in the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades will be considered to have passed the upper class. In this case, the semester points of the courses will be counted as the year-end score.

It will also be used in the calculation of year-end score, weighted score, year-end success score and middle school success score (OBP). Students whose success is evaluated during the education and training activities in primary school 1, 2 and 3 grades will be considered to have passed the upper class. However, in primary schools, repetition can be made in line with the written request of the parents.

In high schools, if the compensation program cannot be implemented due to the interruption of education and training, students only have one semester score and the conditions that cause a break, the students’ end-of-year score will be determined by a semester score. In this context; Students who meet the requirements for passing directly to the classroom will pass directly, and students who do not meet the requirements for passing directly to the classroom will pass the class responsibly regardless of the total number of failed courses, including the lower grades. Students who are re-enrolled due to absenteeism will not be evaluated in this context.

Vocational and technical high school students who have vocational training in enterprises, in case the skill exam cannot be held, the skill in the enterprise will be evaluated as a semester success point of vocational education course and the year-end success score of this course. Students who see the training of theoretical and applied lessons as intensified in the enterprises will also go to a higher class, provided that they have participated in the intensive training program in previous classes.
