In the proposal regarding the Validebağ Grove, which has been under threat of construction for years, to the extraordinary assembly; It is stated that the 261 thousand square meters of the 354 thousand square meter Validebağ Grove, which is owned by the treasury, has been allocated to the Üsküdar Municipality by the General Directorate of National Real Estate of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization.

In the grove, which is alleged to be neglected, it was asked to authorize the mayor to decide on the preliminary allocation to be maintained and repaired by preserving its natural structure. The decision was accepted by majority vote.

TAX OFFERED FOR BORROWER

The 4 thousand square meter Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu Indoor Sports Hall, owned by Üsküdar Municipality, was transferred to the treasury to be allocated to the Ministry of Youth and Sports in exchange for tax debts of the municipal company Üsküdar Kent Hizmetleri Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş. 42 million 264 thousand 180 TL tax debt of the municipal company was deleted in exchange for the transfer. The decision passed with a majority of votes.

Opposing the decisions, Üsküdar City Council CHP Group Vice President and IMM Assembly Member Doğan Tekel stated that the Validebağ Grove should remain in its original form and said, “Do not touch the grove. Let’s not harm its naturalness. Withdraw your offer. ”

Stating that they opposed the tax debt cancellation decision as it was related to past debts, Tekel said, “If there were debts today, we would say ‘yes’ to him but we say ‘no’ because there are past debts. Already the right to clear off tax debt is only given to the AKP municipalities. CHP municipalities also have tax debts, but they are not given such a right. ”
