Turkey : Police reform expectation in New York!

Anti-racist demonstrations in the United States that started as a result of the killing of George Floyd by the police brought up new regulations in the police service.

At the press conference held today, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the reform agenda was “with a long list of police officers and people abused by the justice system”.

Stating that George Floyd was at the bottom of the long list, Andrew Cuomo spoke about the police reform called “Say Their Name”:

“Floyd’s murder was a breaking point on the list of unnecessary and abusive deaths. This is a fact. And people say it is enough. This is real. What people say is that we stop and change abuse. And this is a fact. And New York must be at the forefront of it. ”

Police reform “Say Their Name”, addressed by Andrew Cuomo, includes:

* Transparency of older disciplinary records of police officers.

* No absolute power.

* False 911 notices made through race should be classified as hate crime.

* Attorney Generals should act independently in police-related murders.
