Turkey : Statement about mask claims from IMM

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) made statements on some social media accounts and websites about news, reviews and claims about masks that IETT bought in May.

“IT IS NOT GOOD TO BE AWESOME”

In the IMM statement, “The agenda, coercion, and intentions that ignore the purpose are the agenda that is desired for IETT drivers to be created regarding the masks purchased during the pandemic period. Protecting the health of IETT drivers, who are among the most challenging occupational groups during the epidemic period, is the top priority of both İBB and its subsidiary IETT. ”

“REALIZED WITH DIRECT PURCHASE METHOD”

In the statement, which stated that 100 thousand special-quality masks were purchased in May for the use of IETT drivers, it was stated that “The purchase was made by direct purchase method as permitted by the legislation due to the epidemic”.

“12 HOURS RESISTANT”

The following information was shared about the features of the masks;

* The received masks are durable for 12 hours. Unlike other masks, it is liquid proof. The preference of such masks is the most correct decision for the health of IETT drivers as the disease is likely to spread with liquid contact.

* In addition, these masks are not sewn by hand, but by the machine, ultrasonic strip seams. Again, the rings carry ribbon flexibility to prevent discomfort in the ear.

* In order for the protection feature to be higher, masks with a larger size than others were preferred.
