Turkey : Statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office: Investigation against those who issued that document

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office made a statement regarding the interrogation report circulating in the social media that the decision to “release” was made about the new age writer Murat Ağırel, who was arrested as part of the investigation launched after the publication of the images regarding the funeral of the MİT member who was martyred in Libya.

In the written statement of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, “The questionnaire, which was shared by the Istanbul 5th Magistrates’ Court, where the suspects were released by the Istanbul 5th Criminal Court of Peace, where they were sent to demand the arrest of the MA on 8/3/2020, was fake and issued against TCK 204. According to the article, an investigation has been launched. ”

The statement also stated that an investigation will be launched against the crime of “forgery in the official document”.

The Chief Public Prosecutor also made a statement regarding the allegations that he was subjected to ill-treatment at the Silivri Prison, where OdaTV Editor-in-Chief Barış Pehlivan was taken after his arrest.

In the statement of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, “Reports made about being beaten in Silivri prison are unrealistic. There is no trace, evidence or evidence that the suspect himself and his lawyers were assaulted by the Silivri Prison administration, the Silivri prosecutor’s office, as there were no verbal and written applications. ”
