According to a report in the Swiss press, the researchers of the Zurich and Lausanne Federal Institute of Technology developed a virus contact tracking application. The application, which is waiting for legal processes, will be introduced on May 11.
Scientists think that with the application DP-3T, more concrete data will be obtained about the spread of the virus among humans. Interacting with the Bluetooth connection, the DP-3T uses the location information of smartphones.
AIM OF THE APPLICATION?
The application was developed in order to identify people carrying the corona virus and thus take necessary measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
At this point, the importance of the application is emphasized in determining the people who carry the virus but have no symptoms.
It is aimed to prevent the disease by identifying the person carrying the disease and the people he / she has contacted.
So how effective will the application be?
The practice, which has proven to be effective in several Asian countries, is expected to be effective in Switzerland as well.
The application, which raises some public concern about privacy, needs to be used by 60% of the Swiss society to be functional.
Researchers at the University of Oxford said the practice would be ineffective if it was used less than expected.
For this reason, some Swiss politicians argue that implementation should be made compulsory.
There are some question marks about privacy.
The Deloitte company conducted a survey on implementation with a total of 1500 people aged 16-64. 64 percent of the respondents are warm about the application that warns of contact with people carrying corona virus.
60 percent of the participants said that they would install the contact tracking application on their phones. While 30 percent of the survey respondents fully support the implementation, 34 percent consider the practice partially positive. A 14 percent cut opposes anonymously tracking their actions.
According to the survey, people under the age of 30 are slightly higher in approving the corona virus contact tracking application. The approval rate among those working in the information technology or telecommunications industry is above average (78 percent).
