Then Mahmut Can wanted to drink his 16-year-old brother Emir Can from the sherbet. However, Emir Can, who saw that his parents were sick, reacted. Meanwhile, Mahmut Can, Emir Can and their younger brothers Mehmet Taha were also affected by the spilled liquid. While the parents who were hospitalized lost their lives, their sons were discharged after their treatment.

Mahmut Can Kalkan, in his statement at the Public Security Branch Directorate at the Murder Bureau, said, “I left my girlfriend when I started university. Then, in the lab of the university, I met someone like a superhero with red eyes in the shape of a horizontal line and wearing a black cape. But only I could see this person, when he was alone. He was telling me that he didn’t like being in the crowd and came to the lab only when he was there. Finally, he told me to prepare a cyanide sherbet and drink it to my family. ”
Kalkan, who was dispatched to the courthouse, was arrested for “intentionally killing a chemical descendant by designing the relative from the upper line”. Kalkan was sent to Manisa Mental Health and Diseases Hospital after staying in prison for 1 day. Kalkan, who stayed here for 50 days, was taken to prison again.
DIAGNOSIS OF PSYCHOTIC DISORDERS
Kalkan was diagnosed with “psychotic disorder” in the report requested from Manisa Mental Health and Diseases Hospital in the previous sessions of the Izmir 11th High Criminal Court.
The report also underlined that Kalkan could not fully understand the legal meanings and consequences of the act committed due to his mental illness against the crimes of “intentionally killing a man with a chemical weapon by designing a relative from a superior,” and “attempting to intentionally kill a chemical weapon by designing his brother”.
In the last session of the hearing, the court delegation requested a report from the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute because the report, which states that Kalkan has no criminal capacity, does not contain details.
NEW REPORT FROM ISTANBUL
Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute Observation Specialization Office sent the report requested by the court to the 11th High Criminal Court. The report stated that there was no behavior disorder in Kalkan during the observation process.
