The funeral of Grup Yorum member İbrahim Gökçek, who lost his life in the hospital where he was removed after a break from his action on the 323th day of his death fast, was sent to Kayseri after the tension in the Istanbul Gazi District and was removed to the morgue of Asri Cemetery.
A COUNTRY GROUP CLOSED THE WAY TO TRAFFIC
A group of nearly 500 idealists who learned that Gökçek’s funeral would be buried in the Talas district of Başakpınar District, closed the road to traffic. Police teams called for the disbanding of the slogan “Down with the PKK and we do not want terrorists in our neighborhood”. MHP Kayseri Deputy Baki Ersoy also went to the area to calm the crowd. Receiving the promise that İbrahim Gökçek’s funeral will not be buried in his neighborhoods, the group disbanded later.
THE CEMETERY HAS BEEN CHANGED ON REACTIONS
The place of the cemetery, where Gökçek’s funeral will be buried, was changed upon the reactions. Gökçek’s body, which was taken by his relatives in the Morgue of Asri Cemetery in the morning, was brought to the Halef Hodja cemetery in Talas district, accompanied by the police cortege.
Gökçek’s funeral was buried after the funeral prayer. Sultan Gökçek, who is the wife of Gökçek and also a member of Grup Yorum, and their relatives attended the funeral.
