Total revenue from highways with Istanbul July 15 Martyrs and FSM Bridge affiliated to the General Directorate of Highways was TL 165.7 million in March of this year. The number of vehicles passing through bridges and highways was 29 million 754 thousand 948.
VEHICLES LOW BY 2019 DECREASED INCOME INCREASE
The hike to bridges and highways was also reflected in the figures. In March last year, the total number of vehicles passing through the highways with the July 15 Martyrs and FSM Bridge was 36 million 975 thousand 913, while the total revenue provided was 156 million 788 thousand 8 TL.
VEHICLE LOSS IN TWO BRIDGES 3.4 MILLION
The number of vehicles passing through the Martyrs Bridge and Fatih Sutan Mehmet Bridge on 15 July decreased this year to 3 million 428 thousand in March compared to the previous year, and decreased to 7 million 351 thousand 572. The loss of the state from the two Bosphorus bridges in Istanbul has reached approximately 7 million TL.
In other words, while the number of vehicles passing through bridges and highways decreased in March this year, total income increased.
The quarantine and curfews applied during the corona virus epidemic were effective in the decrease in the number of vehicles passed.
TOTAL 540.7 MILLION TL INCOME IN 2020
According to the data of the General Directorate of Highways, 30 million 677 thousand 852 TL was generated from the bridges of July 15 Martyrs and Fatih Sultan Mehmet and 135 million 40 thousand 926 TL from the toll motorways. Thus, total revenue was 165 million 718 thousand 778 TL.
The total income provided in the first three months of 2020 was 540 million 700 thousand 714 TL.
20 PERCENT PERIOD HAS BEEN PERFORMED IN OCTOBER
Bridges and highways had a 20 percent hike in October 2019. In the statement made, it was emphasized that in order to ensure the sustainability of road standards, the minimum increase in tolls in highways and bridges has become necessary, taking into account the major maintenance repairs to the Bosphorus bridges, increases in labor and material prices and increases in maintenance-operation costs.
