On the 12th day of the Floyd protests, thousands of demonstrators gathered around the White House and the congress building in Washington, for the purpose of protest.
While many streets in the city center were closed to traffic during the day, a statement made by the Washington security unit said that at least 6,000 people attended only the protests near Lincoln Memorial and Lafayette Park.
According to the news in the Voice of America, protests continued throughout the country on Friday, in the capital, Washington, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Miami, New York and Denver.
Tensions in the protests decreased after police officers who killed Floyd were arrested and their criminal demands increased.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Black-aged citizen George Floyd, 46, was killed on May 25 in Minneapolis while detained by police.
Protest demonstrations started on May 26 after the images of Floyd’s detention spread on social media.
CNN reporter Omar Jimenez, who watched the protests in Minneapolis on May 28, was detained and handcuffed while he was on air.
On 31 May, it was stated that violent incidents spread throughout the country, and at least 5 people died in the protests. Protest demonstrations were held in more than 75 cities, and at least 4,400 people were detained.
