Provincial Police Department Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch Directorate teams acted on the information that the managers of the ‘Association of Social Assistance and Solidarity Hand in Hand with the Voice of the Mediterranean’ embezzled money from the citizens for cancer patients, disabled people and the elderly.
Within the scope of the investigation carried out with the instructions of Adıyaman Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, a decision was made to arrest 70 suspects.

The association operates in Adıyaman, Ankara, Antalya, Adana, Samsun, İzmir, Kahramanmaraş, Kırıkkale, Konya, Muğla, Samsun, Istanbul, Afyonkarahisar, Mersin, Balıkesir, Kocaeli, Aydın, Uşak, Eskişehir, Kayseri, Zonguldak and Tekirdağ simultaneously. The police, who carried out the operation, detained 49 suspects. A large number of receipts were seized at the suspects’ addresses.
