A press conference on “Viral Infections and Coronavirus” was organized by the management of Trakya University Medical Faculty Hospital.
Speaking at the meeting, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Infectious Diseases, and Chair of the Control and Prevention of Infections Committee Assoc. Dr. Zerrin Yuluğkural stated that since the Corona virus is a droplet-borne disease, people can take the necessary measures, especially in simple ways such as frequent washing of their hands.

“FEARING IS NOT GOING TO THE PLACE”
Turkey says it is not concerned in Yuluğkural of a Corona virus cases, for the moment, he said;
* For external cases, the Ministry of Health took precautions against things that could come with a correct action. Therefore, it is not currently possible to speak of a coronavirus cases or outbreaks in Turkey.
* We are absolutely not afraid, fear is not reached anywhere. We may encounter, there is nothing for now, but it happened that if we meet, if we apply infection control measures, we have already done the most important things we can do for this disease.
“COMMUNICATION OF TRADE PRODUCTS IS NOT THE SUBJECT”
Underlining that there is no risk to prevent trade from China, Yuluğkural reminded the World Health Organization’s decision on this matter.
Yuluğkural continued his words as follows;
* A product from China comes closed. Viruses do not stay very long outside anyway. The products from China are already coming in a long time.
* There will be no contamination in products that come with commerce. We can say this in the light of our current information.
* There is no situation that would require avoiding commerce. No virus is transmitted through a product from China. There is also no problem traveling. Already all necessary measures are taken.
“MUST WASH YOUR HANDS”
Saying that people can take measures against the virus with simple procedures, Yuluğkural said, “We should definitely wear a mask. But more important than that is washing hands. We can take a good measure by washing our hands properly with soap and water. “If we come closer to someone with a sick person, it will be enough for us to be protected with a simple mask.” DHA
