19 women, who were dismissed from ISMEK from Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality on 27 January, came to the prosecutor’s office on 31 January and filed a criminal complaint.

19 WOMEN HAVE COMPLAINTS

In the petition submitted to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, it was stated that the defendant Yeşim Meltem Şişli had a meeting with the regional officers at the İBB Saraçhane building on August 19, 2019, and was humiliated by making very heavy and offensive insults despite seeing the customers for the first time at the meeting and not knowing anything about them. .

Upon the complaint, an investigation was started against Yeşim Meltem Şişli by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. Şişli, whose testimony was taken as part of the investigation, denied the accusations saying, “I have definitely not taken any devastating action with my words and behavior.”

FROM 3 YEARS TO 9 YEARS ARE REQUESTED

The prosecutor’s office, which completed the investigation, issued an indictment against the defendant Yeşim Meltem Şişli with the request of 3 to 9 years in prison for “preventing the use of freedom of belief, thought and opinion”.

As Yeşim Meltem Şişli’s “suspect”; The Istanbul 59th Criminal Court of First Instance accepted the indictment, which included 19 women as “complainants” and the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services as “participants”. The court decided to issue an invitation to the defendants and complainants and ruled that the first hearing will be held on 17 June.
