World-renowned Anzer honey, which is produced in limited quantities in Anzer Plateau in İkizdere district of Rize, has been placed in order for the next season product. While 80 percent of Anzer honey, whose weight was sold at a thousand TL, was sold this year, 20 percent of its product was pre-ordered.
In Anzer Plateau, 2 thousand 300 meters above sea level in Ballıköy, İkizdere district, Anzer honey, where 200 producers started production in 2 thousand 500 hives, was milked in late August. Anzer honey, which yielded 1.5 tons of harvest, was also offered for sale towards the end of September. Consumers started to pre-order the honey for Anzer honey, 80 percent of which was sold next season. ‘Emperor honey’, also known as the honey Anzor, Turkey as well as Germany, France, Britain, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia and orders coming in from Israel. Among the famous players are giving the most honey in Turkey in order, while the honey so far sold 20 percent of the pre-order season demand is expected to drop up to 50 percent.
‘LESS AMOUNT OF HONEY IS HAND IN OUR HAND’
Osman Civelek, President of Anzer Ballıköy Agricultural Development Cooperative, stated that 2019 is a productive year for producers, stating that there is a small amount of honey in their hands. Civelek said, “We had around 2 tons of honey. We sent these honeys to Hacettepe University for analysis, our 1.5 tons of honey was approved and came back to us. The honeys that were not approved by the analysis were returned to our producers. We have sold approximately eighty percent of the 1.5 tons of Anzer Honey we have. Due to the economic conditions, there is a decrease in our honey sales, but our permanent customers are getting their honey from us. We sold eighty percent, we have a small amount of honey left. We will consume this until the new season starts. ”
‘50% OF NEW PRODUCT IS SOLD WITH FRONT ORDER’
Civelek also stated that they made sales from honey of the next year with pre-order and said, “We realize our sales through the cooperative and on our website. We also have a customer order form. We have customers who placed their orders one year in advance. They are written for the new season honey before, they inform us about their orders, we send them the products they demand when the season begins. Since Anzer Honey is not a very produced honey, our customers order it 1 year in advance. Because this honey cannot be found. They are ordering one year in advance, which we cannot get, we record these orders. When Anzer Honeys are on sale after the 20th of September, we return to our customers and send their orders. We have already started to receive 2020 product honey orders. The majority of our customers also want the new product. Currently, we have very few honeys of 2019 product. Those who want new product honey must wait for the next season. They are already placing orders. We will complete their orders of honey that will be released in September. This year’s Anzer Honey kilogram is offered for sale at a thousand TL. Next season, we have sold 20 percent of honey now. We will sell 50 percent until the season opens, ”he said.

Annual honey production varies due to weather conditions and flower flora. It is stated that Anzer honey is good for many diseases, especially respiratory diseases.
