Professor Dr. Şükrü Ersoy; Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality spoke at the seminar on Marmara Earthquake and Tsunami Potential at the Corlu Municipality Wedding Hall in cooperation with Çorlu Municipality and Search and Rescue Association (AKUT).

Professor Dr. Ersoy said:
* North Anatolian Fault thousand 400 kilometers. It is a moving fault area starting from Bingöl Karlıova and ending in Saros Bay. Why is it important?
* Look, there was an earthquake measuring 7.9 in 1939. The earth crust was broken 350 kilometers.
* There was a major earthquake again in 1942, 1943, and 1944. It is transferred to the west.
* There was a big earthquake again in 1951. Look, he doesn’t wait 100 years. He comes to Adapazarı in 1957 and 1967.
* There is an earthquake in Şarköy-Müref in 1912. The shell of 7.4 size is broken 50 kilometers, 300 settlements are destroyed.
* After that there are 1999 earthquakes. Kocaeli and Düzce earthquakes. There is an earthquake activity shifting westwards from 1939 to 1999.

Ersoy, who also made evaluations about the results of the Marmara earthquake, said:
* What costs does the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality work with foreigners about the possible damages in this region, how many people can die, how many can be injured?
* For example, its cost is thought to be 100 billion TL. Look how big money. But with very little of this, it may be possible to handle many things in Marmara. Other than that, the deceased will be saved.
* You will take care of 2 million people every day, feed, host and you will do this not for one day, but for one year, two years.
* A huge cost and a huge gamble. This gamble should not be played. This is a supra-party issue.
* All parties, all decision-makers need to go hand in hand and solve this job. Turkey is the largest project earthquake project.
