Istanbul Police Department launched a new project in the city in 2019 due to the deliberate fires in 4 different forest areas and to ensure the safety of the people who travel and picnic in the forest area.

The project, which was started with the aim of protecting forests and citizens, started under the name of “Nature patrol” with the participation of many police teams in Sultangazi Hacıbektaşı Veli City Forest.
Motorized Dolphin Teams, Riot Police Teams, Dog Teams, Special Operations Police, airborne thermal drones and police helicopters will take place in the applications that will continue in the forests throughout Istanbul.
IT WILL BE APPLIED FOR SPECIFIC DAYS AND HOURS
In the project, which will be implemented at certain days and times of the week, dolphin crews will inspect suspicious persons in the forest areas. Special Operations Police officers, horse and dog teams will be on patrol at points that cannot be reached by vehicles.
The application, which was launched for the first time in Sultangazi with 61 police officers in total, will continue at certain intervals in all forest areas in Istanbul. DHA
