Today, the verdict was made in Gezi Case where 16 people were tried together with the imprisoned Osman Kavala. 9 people were acquitted, including Osman Kavala, and 7 arrest warrants were issued for 7 defendants. The court also ordered the release of Osman Kavala, who was under arrest.
Stating that the decision in the case was ‘promising’, Yavaş used the following statements regarding the decision:
* Although the decision in the Gezi case gave hope, it showed how unfair the long term detentions that turned into punishments caused.
